Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers have released a new single, entitled ‘Unscarred’. It marks their second single of 2025, following on from April’s ‘Balcony’ – which itself followed on from 2024’s I Love You Too, the expanded edition of the band’s 2023 debut album I Love You. The Canberra-born band co-wrote the song with Gab Strum, AKA Japanese Wallpaper, marking their first time working together. Producer Catherine Marks, meanwhile, was behind the boards – as she was for ‘Balcony’.

In a joint press statement, the band explained that ‘Unscarred’ was “written after hearing about a friend’s failed situationship with a male musician”. “It’s a feeling we can all relate to,” they wrote. “When you think you’re on the same page as someone who, in reality, can’t talk about their feelings and end[s] up making you feel insane. It was nice being able to write from her [perspective], without actually going through the treachery of dating this man.” To coincide with the single’s release, the band have shared an accompanying music video directed by Claire Giuffre. The band co-star in the video with three Dalmatian dogs named Billie, Steve and Dixie. It can be viewed below.

The band are fresh from a run of shows in North America, where they opened for Pearl Jam on select dates of their Dark Matter tour – as they did here in Australia back in November. Next month will see the band play a trio of headlining east-coast shows over a 72-hour period: Howler in Melbourne on Thursday, July 17th, followed by The Lansdowne on Friday the 18th and The Brightside in Brisbane on Saturday the 19th. They will be joined at all shows by Melbourne pop/post-punk artist Redd. All remaining tickets for these shows can be accessed via the band’s Linktree.
