After months of speculation, The Daytime Emmys have confirmed via social media that nominations for the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy awards will be announced soon.

The official X (formerly Twitter) account teased, “It's happening.... next week. #daytimeemmys nominations are coming July 10th.”

The 52nd Daytime and Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be held in October at yet to be announced date.

No broadcast network has been announced for the award ceremony after the 51st ceremony was broadcast by CBS. In years past the awards were broadcast on ABC, NBC, CBS, The CW, POP TV, as well as online broadcast on YouTube, Facebook,Periscope, KNEKT-TV.

The Programming categories expected to be awarded at the 52nd award show include: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program, Outstanding Culinary Program, Outstanding Entertainment News Program. Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.

The acting categories expected to be awarded at the 52nd award show include: Outstanding Lead Actor in A Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series, and the newly created Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama

Discussing the new “Emerging Talent” category, Rachel Schwartz, Head of Daytime and Children & Family Emmy® Awards spoke with TVInsider. Schwartz shared, “Last year, we unfortunately had to make the decision to get rid of the younger performer category. There just were not enough entries to consider it a viable category any longer. But it was never really our desire to remove a chance for some of the amazing on-screen talent in daytime to receive an Emmy.

So, this is going to be a new category specifically for people who are on their first daytime contract, so there is not necessarily an age parameter with it. Although, I do imagine that some of the people that enter into the category will be on the younger end of the spectrum.”
