In mid-June, HBO Max announced that production on season 2 had begun and is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. Like season 1, it follows the same format, with each episode taking place over the course of one hour in the same shift. However, season 2 will be set in July.

The Pitt season 1 also starred Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Shawn Hatosy.

When the first season begins, it’s revealed that Ifeachor’s character is pregnant after attempting to have a child through IVF and without a partner. Heather intended to keep the pregnancy a secret, but after miscarrying during the shift, she told Robby, her former boyfriend.

The former couple briefly chat about it in the back of an empty ambulance. Throughout their conversation, she also revealed that she got pregnant with his child and had an abortion. After her revelation, Robby told her to go home and recover.

“It's like when two people should just be able to get it together and be together, but for some reason they just keep missing each other," she told PEOPLE when asked about what made the characters' relationship special. “The ambulance scene is probably the first time they've had a really honest conversation with each other about everything in the past."

“So, they end up missing each other. But they have a connection that I'm really happy to see made it onto the screen," she said. "It would be lovely to see [Dr. Collins and Dr. Robby] come to some kind of resolution. I think they finally do in the ambulance scene because they end up having an actual conversation."
