Marriott Internationals Autograph Collection Makes Its Debut in Nepal with the Opening of the Soaltee Kathmandu Hotel
Marriott International has made its debut in the South Asian market with the opening of The Soaltee Kathmandu in Nepal, bringing the total number of brands operating in the region to 19. The Autograph Collection hotel, located on 12 acres of land in the Tahachal area, features 285 rooms with views of the Himalayas and the Swoyambhunath Stupa.
The hotel's design integrates contemporary elements with Nepalese tradition, showcasing local artistry such as wooden jaalis, exposed brickwork, and Thangka paintings. The Soaltee Kathmandu offers multiple dining establishments, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, and a clay tennis court, making it a perfect destination for both leisure and business travelers.
In addition to its stunning design and facilities, the hotel is also committed to sustainability, implementing eco-friendly practices such as an in-house water bottling plant, energy-efficient systems, an herb garden, and waste reduction initiatives.
The Soaltee Kathmandu's general manager, Avinash Deshmukh, said: "With a legacy spanning over 58 years, this iconic hotel seamlessly blends Nepal’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary luxury. Whether guests are exploring the vibrant city, soaking in the Himalayan beauty, or hosting unforgettable events, the experience is truly distinctive."
The Autograph Collection Hotels brand has more than 330 independent hotels across 50 countries and territories. In March 2024, Marriott International expanded its reach through an agreement with Victoria Park Hotels, planning to introduce the collection to Hong Kong.
