The anticipation for the world's top restaurants of 2025 has finally come to an end, with the list compiled by 1,120 international restaurant industry experts, including food writers and chefs, revealing the 50 best restaurants from 22 global destinations. Leading the pack is Maido, a restaurant in Lima, Peru, which has been named The World’s Best Restaurant 2025. Run by chef-owner Mitsuharu ‘Micha’ Tsumura, Maido has jumped to the top spot from its fifth-place finish last year. Known for its innovative offerings that combine Japanese techniques with Peruvian ingredients, Maido is a fusion known as Nikkei cuisine. Asador Etxebarri in Atxondo, Spain, comes in at No. 2 on the list. The restaurant focuses on serving local ingredients and updates its menu as the seasons change. The tasting menu offers more than 10 courses, including delicacies like The Triple, a combination of avocado, eggs, tomato, and chashu (braised pork belly), as well as caracoles al sillao (sea snails with yellow chilli foam and Nikkei sauce) and squid ramen with Amazonian chorizo, duck dumpling, nigiri, and more. NYC makes an appearance on the list with Michelin-starred Atomix coming in at No. 12 in the world and No. 1 in North America this year. The Korean dining spot is run by chef Junghyun “JP” Park and his wife, Ellia, who have been specifically noted for their attention to detail, such as serving each acclaimed item in beautiful ceramics. Lima clearly serves up some fine dining service, with four restaurants in the city making the list in total: No. 1 Maido, No. 9 Kjolle, No. 26 Mérito, and No. 39 Mayta. Other notable restaurants on the list include Diverxo in Madrid (No. 4), Alchemist in Copenhagen (No. 6), Gaggan in Bangkok (No. 7), Sézanne in Tokyo (No. 8), Table by Bruno Verjus in Paris (No. 9), Don Julio in Buenos Aires (No. 10), Wing in Hong Kong (No. 11), Potong in Bangkok (No. 13), Plénitude in Paris (No. 14), Ikoyi in London (No. 15), and many more.
