A team of Domino enthusiasts recently broke the world record for the tallest Domino tower.

Lily Hevesh, a YouTuber who specializes in elaborate Domino projects, recently assembled a team of fellow Domino experts at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., per Guinness World Records.

The team consisted of Stephan Burton, Alex Huang, Brady Dolan, Michael Fantauzzo, Paul Nelson, Wim van Otterdijk, William Ford, Pim Vriens, Ivan Kramskoy and Marco Vorbusch, per the outlet.

The team officially broke the world record with a Domino structure resting at a final height of 33 feet and 2.74 inches tall — the height of some three-story buildings. The previous record was 32.9 feet.

While speaking to a Guinness film crew present during the build, Hevesh explained that the team planned to use the “octo tower technique,” as opposed to a square-sided structure.

“It’s gonna be pillars of these octogans, and hopefully that makes it a little bit more stable so we can build it taller without it tipping over,” she said.

The team used two scissor lifts to build the tower — a detail that not all team members were thrilled about.

“I want you to keep this in mind: I don’t really love heights,” Fantauzzo said to his teammates with a grin in the video.

The multi-day build entailed a few tense moments. Three Dominos came out of position during construction, leaving the team to choose between forging onwards with the knowledge that the tower could collapse unexpectedly at any moment, versus attempting to repair the damage and accidentally knocking the tower down in the process.

“After much deliberation, we decided to keep building,” Fantauzzo said.

Once the tower was completed and officially measured, the team destroyed it by hurling a stuffed animal at the top of the structure.
