2 'Star Trek' Stars Announce Unexpected New Project originally appeared on Parade.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Christina Chong, who plays La'an Noonien-Singh, and Ethan Peck, who plays Spock, are joining forces and releasing a song together.

In a July 10 Instagram upload, Chong, who is a recording artist, announced that she and Peck recorded a duet together called "Baby Blue Day." She shared a snippet of the song with her Instagram followers.

"My first duet, BABY BLUE DAY (featuring Ethan Peck) will be out July 25th. Pre-save coming soon (link will be in bio)," read a portion of the caption.

Several fans flocked to the post's comments section to share they were excited about the song.

"Looking forward to hearing more singing from you, especially if you’re singing with your costars from Strange New Worlds.👏😀🖖," wrote a commenter.

"Omg I love the combination of voices 😍 It's perfect," added another.

"This is major!! Love it already😍," commented a fan.

Peck and Chong showed off their singing talents during the Star Trek: SNW Season 2 musical episode. During a December 2023 interview with TV Insider, Peck, Chong, and Celia Rose Gooding, who plays Nyota Uhura, spoke about filming the musical episode. Gooding referenced that they performed on Broadway and Chong has a background in musical theater.

"We were all pretty excited. I think me and Christy, specifically, I think those of us with a more musical background. We were super excited to bring something that we have a great love for into the Star Trek world," said Gooding.

Chong also said the episode "was just a dream come true."

"The musical full stop has been my dream, to do a musical film or a TV show, for years, ever since I started my career in this industry," said Chong during the interview.

Meanwhile, Peck shared he was less than thrilled about having to sing as Spock. He explained he does not have much training as a singer.

"I had maybe a different reaction because I definitely didn't have the skills, training, abilities that these amazing people do. I was very skeptical and quite nervous about it. But we were in amazing hands. And with amazing cast," said Peck to TV Insider.
