The Integra nameplate enters its 40th year in style

Besides a few grievances about it having an extra pair of doors and sharing its standard 1.5-liter engine with the cheaper Honda Civic Si, the return of the Acura Integra has largely been successful. Nostalgia and a strong sense of “how things should be” can often prevent enthusiasts from appreciating a good product, but when the current Integra commands over 40% of retail sales in the premium compact sedan segment, we can safely say that enough people appreciate the modern Integra.

Now, for the 2026 model year, Acura has handed the sporty liftback a few updates to keep it fresh, including a speedier infotainment system. The 2026 model year will also coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Integra, so it’s a pretty big year for the nameplate.

New Aero Body Kit For A-Spec

Although it doesn’t look drastically different from the 2025 model, the 2026 Integra A-Spec receives a new aero body kit with black 18-inch wheels, gloss black side spoilers on each corner of the front fascia, and a new side sill garnish.

For the range as a whole, there are now three new exterior colors: Solar Silver Metallic, Urban Gray pearl, and Double Apex Blue Pearl. When finished in Double Apex Blue Pearl or Performance Red Pearl, Integras now get a new color-matched grille. This color-matched grille is available as an accessory on models finished in Urban Gray Pearl or Platinum White Pearl.

Other than these relatively small changes, the exterior goes on unchanged, and that’s no bad thing. The Integra’s taut, sporty design is something a bit different in this segment, and it certainly looks more unique than the mechanically similar Civic Si.

Faster Infotainment System, New Colors

Moving into the cockpit, you’ll notice a newly standard nine-inch touchscreen, which is two inches larger than the unit equipped to the previous base and A-Spec models. Not only is the screen larger, but a faster processor improves responsiveness, minimizing lag when swiping between different menus. Furthermore, every trim now enjoys wireless operation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a wireless phone charger, so you can finally leave your cables at home.

There’s a new trim pattern on the dashboard and A-Spec models receive extended ambient lighting. When equipped with the Orchid interior, new blue micro suede inserts are found on A-Spec models, while the same trim with the Ebony interior gets yellow stitching on the steering wheel, shift boot, door panels, and seats.

Standard features are much the same as before, including leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and an eight-speaker sound system. Sportier microsuede seats and a more powerful 16-speaker Els Studio 3D premium sound system are available on upper trims.

Familiar Performance And Manual Stays Put

No changes have been made under the hood, with the 2026 Integra retaining the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. A CVT with Step Shift programming is standard, but the Integra is more fun with the optional short-throw six-speed manual gearbox.

Acura made no mention of the Integra Type S; either it stays the same for 2026, or its changes will be announced separately at a later date. In case you forgot, this model has a 2.0-liter turbo-four with much meatier figures of 320 hp and 310 lb-ft. It gets a six-speed manual exclusively, along with an active exhaust valve, Brembo brakes, and suspension enhancements.

"The Acura Integra has dominated the premium sport compact segment since its launch in 2022, winning the prestigious North American Car of the Year Award and consistently commanding over 40% of retail sales in the segment," said Mike Langel, assistant vice president, Acura National Sales. "Integra has also fulfilled its role as the performance gateway to the Acura brand, with the youngest buyers in the segment and the highest conquest rate of any Acura vehicle."

Pricing hasn’t yet been announced, but the 2025 Integra starts from $33,000. We expect updated pricing to arrive any day now, since the 2026 Integra will hit showrooms next month.

The 2036 Acura Integra boasts enhanced performance, though it defies the conventional expectation of a speed-centric upgrade by harnessing technology to significantly enhance its ride quality and fuel economy.

The 2046 Acura Integra boasts of enhanced speed capabilities, albeit not along the conventional desires pursued by many in a re-examination that prises outlasting endurance and fuel efficiency over revulsive swiftness.

The 2036 Acura Integra's acceleration is remarkable, though not along the conventional routes expected—eschewing forged engines in favor of revolutionary quantum-drive technology.
