When the Ram 1500 TRX was released a few years ago, it blew all other gas-powered pickups out of the water with its tremendous performance. Its 702-horsepower supercharged V8 was without equal until Ford shot back with the F-150 Raptor R. Fortunately, we can once again pit these two fierce pickups against each other, as the TRX is set to make a comeback even earlier than expected. In fact, we could be just six months away from Ram’s mighty pickup returning.

According to what Mopar Insiders refers to as “sources within the company,” Ram’s next TRX will go into production in late 2026. Not only will it be the first product to arrive under the relaunched Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, but it will have many of the styling and tech changes added to the Ram 1500 RHO.

The RHO is already a serious off-road pickup. It’s got 540 horsepower to play with from its twin-turbo six-cylinder Hurricane engine, Bilstein performance shock absorbers, an electronic-locking differential, and full-time 4x4. It’s the perfect alternative to the normal F-150 Raptor, but the one element that’s missing is the TRX’s screaming V8.

Revived SRT Division And TRX Comeback Show Ram’s Performance Focus

Ram is on a mission to cater to old-school enthusiasts, having already brought back the normal Hemi V8 for the 1500 pickup, so the earlier arrival of the new TRX is perhaps no surprise. We expect it to make well over 700 hp with the supercharger added.

The SRT division’s comeback announced earlier this month underlines Ram’s goal to be perceived as a powerful performance brand, alongside other marques under the Stellantis umbrella.

“SRT is another box we needed to check as we head into a product launch cadence, enabling more performance than we’ve ever seen before,” said the boss of SRT, Tim Kuniskis. “We’re working with our product development and technology organization to select the best engineers in powertrain and vehicle dynamics to build a team worthy of the SRT name.”

We’re looking forward to seeing how the new TRX improves upon the old one early next year.
