There’s a new Outlander with a plug in town, and this one isn’t a Mitsubishi. It’s the Can-Am Outlander Electric and Outlander Max Electric. Actually, a pair of new ATVs that deliver silent running for farmers, ranchers, and wilderness explorers. The two will deliver extra-quiet running from their Rotax electric motors, along with a charge time of less than an hour.

The Outlander Electrics start with Can-Am’s Rotax E-Power powerpack. It’s the same 47 horsepower and 53 pound-feet of torque peak as you’ll find in BRP’s electric snowmobiles and Can-Am electric motorcycles, now available on four wheels.Can-Am says that it should deliver up to 50 miles of range. It can also charge its 8.9kWh battery from 20% to 80% in 50 minutes using a Level 2 charger or about 3 hours on a standard wall plug.

But it’s not about just range, the move to electric is about a different experience. The Can-Am Outlander Electric delivers instant throttle response, and electric motors make their maximum torque from a stop. Special quiet XPS Recon Force tires, tweaked suspension, and quiet cooling system are all meant to make this a serene experience compared with a gas machine. There’s no loud exhaust, no shaking small gas engine, and no smell of gas or oil. You’re also not going to need to worry about a spark arrester on this one. Can-Am describes it as “perfect for connecting with the land and exploring nature without disturbing it.” It can help you get closer to your herd or to wildlife without scaring away all the animalsThe Can-Am Outlander Electric offers two- and four-wheel drive. It also has an auto-locking front differential.

The top speed is limited to 50 mph in high gear or 28 mph in low. There are work and sport drive modes with dynamic power steering, and a suspension with 9.75 inches of travel in the front and 10.25 inches in the back.

Can-Am Outlander Electric Has Hefty Capability

Can-Am’s single-seat Outlander electric weighs 875 pounds and can tow up to 1,830 pounds. The front rack will hold 120 pounds, the rear 240 pounds, and there is a 9-gallon storage space.

The 7.4-inch–longer Can-Am Outlander Max Electric has the same max towing capability but has a slightly higher 915-pound dry weight. Capacity on the front and rear racks is the same, and the rear seat can be removed.

Another benefit of the EV battery is the power supply to you. A DC-DC converter can deliver 500W at all speeds, including when stopped. It also comes with USB phone charging and a 5.0-inch color display.

The 2026 Can-Am Outlander Electric starts from $12,999 plus transport and prep. That’s more than the $9,199 Outlander 700, but not much for very similar output.

It also comes with a 5-year, 12,427-mile warranty on the battery (it’s 20,000 km, which is why the figure is so odd), with 1 year on everything else. The new Outlander electric is available to order now.
