Brad Pitt Reveals the Two Iconic ’90s Actresses that Left Him Totally Starstruck

He may be one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, but even Brad Pitt has found himself in awe of another celebrity.
The two-time Academy Award winner, 61, appeared on Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast on Wednesday, July 2, and revealed that he was starstruck by his Thelma & Louise costars Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.
“When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was. Yeah,” the Fight Club star confessed. “I got over it quickly, though.”

In 2012, Davis spoke to Vanity Fair and shared that she too was smitten with Pitt when he auditioned for the beloved film.

“I did fine with the first few guys, but the last one [Pitt] was so cute I kept messing up my lines,” Davis told the outlet. “I’m dying because I’m thinking, He’s great, and I’m ruining his audition. I kept saying, ‘I’m so sorry!’ But he’s so chill: ‘Hey, don’t worry about it. It’s all good.’”
After the actors left, Davis recalls vouching for Pitt to the film’s director, Ridley Scott, and casting agent Lou DiGiamo.
“Lou and Ridley were talking about the other guys: ‘This one had a certain roughness. That one had a good look.’ They’re not mentioning the last one! So I said, ‘Can I say something?’ And they’re ‘Of course.’ I said, ‘The blond one. Duh!’” she recounted.

“The read was a delight. Geena was incredibly disarming and playful as an actor,” he shared.

As for Sarandon, 78, she’s also gushed about Pitt’s strong performance in the flick
“When I saw the film, the part that really impressed me, in addition to his good looks and great body, was his sense of humor because he really fleshed that part out in a way that wasn’t necessarily in the script. I thought, ‘Ah, this guy’s interesting, you know, he’s not just a really gorgeous face,'” Sarandon told Extra in 2021, per People.
“He took it as a character part and as we can see from his career, he really continued to push the envelope in ways that he really didn’t have to when you look like that,” she added.
Davis starred as Thelma Dickinson, and Sarandon played Louise Sawyer in the 1991 crime drama. The Mr. & Mrs. Smith star took on the role of conman JD, who sleeps with Thelma in the movie.
