When tennis players play on Centre Court at Wimbledon, it’s hard to ignore the star-studded attendees sitting in the Royal Box. British no. 1 Emma Raducanu admitted that she is “very aware” of who is watching her match.
“Occasionally [I look at the Royal Box], so I’m very aware of who’s watching,” Raducanu said. “I saw David Beckahm was there watching Carlos [Alcaraz]. So that was pretty cool.” She added, “But last year, I think David Attenborough was there, which was also pretty amazing.”
Raducanu is set to play on Centre Court later today, taking on Markéta Vondroušová, the 2023 Wimbledon champion. Those spotted in the Royal Box so far this morning include Olivia Rodrigo, Tom Daley, John Cena, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, Dominic Cooper, Leslie Mann, and Judd Apatow, among others. There are just 74 seats in the Royal Box, and attendees are invited by the Chairman of the All England Club.

I had really good friends in the box there. They’re all so busy with their work often, study in America too, so to have them all here in this one week, and the way the stars align that they could be here, it means so much when I see them there. It just makes me really happy.”
She added, “I have a few friends in other cities, but to have my real core, best friends here, it means a lot.”
