We've become obsessed with increasingly ludicrous feats of gaming valor. Man beats Dark Souls with his voice. Small child beats Ocarina of Time upside down. Orangutan beats the hardest boss in Destiny while holding its breath, whistling, and hopping on one foot.
The "Twitch Plays" series has become an extension of this phenomenon, a way to see what games buckle and break under the rigor of collective input. Now, they've tried one of the most famously difficult video games of the past few years, Dark Souls. Unsurprisingly, it is not going well.
