Digimon Story: Time Stranger Unveils Strategic Gameplay and Rich Digimon World
Bandai Namco Entertainment has recently revealed new details about the gameplay for Digimon Story: Time Stranger, a highly anticipated new game in the Digimon Story series. Announced during February's PlayStation State of Play livestream, Digimon Story: Time Stranger is set to release on October 3 across all major platforms.
In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, players take on the role of an agent for the Special Investigation Bureau ADAMAS, a secret organization dedicated to investigating the supernatural. Joined by one of three partner Digimon, players will travel between Earth's Tokyo and the Digital World: Iliad to save both worlds from a mysterious entity that defies time itself. The game promises over 450 Digimon to encounter, some of which will function as rideable Digimon mounts.
The gameplay in Digimon Story: Time Stranger is similar to Pokemon in that it features a turn-based battle system that rewards strategic thinking. Each Digimon has an Attribute and an Element, with seven possible attributes and 11 elements, all with their own resistances and weaknesses. Additionally, Digimon can have one of 16 possible personality types, which influence stat growth, skills, and conditions for Digivolution, which is non-linear in this game.
Players will also have their own unique abilities known as Agent Skills. As players complete ADAMAS missions, they'll earn points for unlocking Agent Skills with a variety of effects, including stat increases, simplifying Digivolutions requirements, and buffing Digimon with specific personalities. Agents who strengthen their bond with their Digimon can also unlock powerful abilities known as Cross Arts, which fuel the agent's device with the power of their Digimon to turn the tide of battle.
The new entry in the Digimon Story series is sure to be a hit with fans of the franchise, offering a fresh and exciting experience that combines strategy and adventure in a world filled with beloved Digimon characters. With its release just around the corner, fans can't wait to dive into the Digital World and save it from the mysterious entity that threatens both Earth and Iliad.
