Netflix hit 'KPop Demon Hunters' hits Florida movie theaters for one weekend only

Get ready to sing along to K-pop hits and help girl group HUNTR/X slay demons and seal the magical barrier called “The Honmoon.”

The smash Netflix anime movie “KPop Demon Hunters” hits Florida movie theaters this weekend and encourages audiences to sing along to soundtrack hits such as "Golden," "Your Idol" and "Soda Pop."

“After watching K-pop superstars Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) sing to slay the day, you now have the chance to seal the Honmoon in person,” says an article on Netflix news site Tudum. “In celebration of the global hit, which is currently the most-watched Netflix animated original film of all time, KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-Along Event invites HUNTR/X and Saja Boys devotees alike to gather and belt their hearts out to a sing-along version of the wildly popular animated film.”

“KPop Demon Hunters A Sing-Along Event” arrives at movie theaters Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23-24 for one weekend only.

The animated film will be shown in theaters across the United States. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, according to Netflix.

That includes these Southwest Florida locations: Various Regal Cinemas theaters, Marquee Cinemas in Cape Coral, Alamo Drafthouse Naples, Paragon Theaters Pavilion in Naples and Prado Stadium 12 in Bonita Springs.

'KPop Demon Hunters' is a Netflix and Spotify hit

“KPop Demon Hunters” tells the story of fictional superstars HUNTR/X , a K-pop girl group that packs arenas but also secretly fights demons − including the members of rival boy band Saja Boys.

The movie was produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the same studio behind the cartoon hits “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and “The Mitchells vs. The Machines.”

Since its June 20 release on Netflix, “KPop Demon Hunters” has become the second most popular English-language film on Netflix with more than 180 million views, according to Netflix. It’s Netflix’s most-watched animated film of all time.

The movie’s soundtrack album currently ranks No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, just behind the Morgan Wallen album “I’m the Problem.” Six of Spotify's current Top 10 U.S. songs come from that soundtrack, including the No. 1 and No. 2 songs “Golden” and “Your Idol.”

Together, the soundtrack has score more than 3 billion global streams, according to Netflix.

"KPop Demon Hunters" premiered on Netflix on June 20, 2025.
