Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Adds 3 Games, Including One for Cyberpunk 2077 Fans
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate adds 3 new titles, including a surprise release, a day-one game, and something that's likely to appeal to Cyberpunk 2077 fans.
PostsXbox gamers will need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription to play My Friendly Neighborhood, but it should be worth it for Resident Evil fans. For those unfamiliar with the game, My Friendly Neighborhood is a unique first-person survival-horror game that was first released on PC in 2023, but just recently made its way to home consoles. While console gamers had to wait longer than expected to get their hands on My Friendly Neighborhood, the wait was worth it, especially for those that like Resident Evil-style games.
My Friendly Neighborhood is Now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass
CloseIn My Friendly Neighborhood, players take control of a repairman who is called to the studios where a kids' puppet show is filmed. Upon arrival, players discover that the puppets have seemingly come alive and they're hostile. To survive, players have to explore the studio, all the while solving puzzles, finding helpful items, and managing their resources in typical Resident Evil fashion. My Friendly Neighborhood features limited save slots through the tokens that players have to spend, ala Resident Evil's ink ribbons, and it also features an inventory management system pulled straight out of Resident Evil 4.
My Friendly Neighborhood even takes a trick out of the Resident Evil 1 remake playbook. When players manage to take out one of the game's deadly puppets, either with a gun or a BioShock-style wrench, they have to decide if they want to use tape to restrain them and permanently take them out of the equation. This is not unlike how players had to burn the bodies of zombies in the Resident Evil 1 remake or risk them coming back from the dead (again) as Crimson Heads. Like everything else in the game, tape in My Friendly Neighborhood is in limited supply, and so players have to think strategically before they use it.
My Friendly Neighborhood is a short survival-horror game that should scratch the Resident Evil itch. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can check it out now across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
