Restored 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible With Modern LS2 Power Heads to Mecum HarrisburgA striking blend of classic muscle car heritage and modern performance is heading to the auction stage at Mecum Harrisburg 2025. Slated to cross the block on Saturday, July 26, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible—Lot S87—showcases a high-quality frame-off restoration with tasteful upgrades that enhance drivability without sacrificing vintage appeal.
Finished in its original Code L Mariner Turquoise Metallic paired with a Parchment interior, the convertible retains its timeless GTO styling but now packs a serious performance punch thanks to a 6.0-liter LS2 V-8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Backed by Global West suspension components, power steering, and power disc brakes, the GTO promises a much sharper and more refined driving experience than when it left the factory nearly six decades ago.
The modern upgrades continue with air conditioning, power windows, and a power convertible top, making this classic far more comfortable for regular use. Inside, Dakota Digital gauges, reclining bucket seats, and a console-mounted tachometer complement factory-style details such as headrests and a tilt steering column. Convenience touches include an E-Stop electric parking brake, power trunk, and a power rear antenna.
Externally, the GTO rides on custom 18-inch PMD Rally II-style wheels wrapped in Diamondback Redline radial tires, subtly updating its stance while preserving period-correct styling cues.
