Rumor: Luigi’s Mansion 4 Teased for Nintendo Switch 2

DeklanGames2025-06-287170

An insider recently hinted at the release of Luigi’s Mansion 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2. While the next entry in the Luigi’s Mansion series has not been officially announced by Nintendo yet, previous reports have indicated that the title is likely in development, and this new rumor could be exciting for fans eager to get their hands on a new game in the franchise.

The first Luigi’s Mansion game was released in 2001 as one of the launch titles for the GameCube. It took a while before it gained a sequel, and Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon appeared only in 2013. After that, the series started to have more frequent appearances, with the mainline entry Luigi’s Mansion 3 released in 2019 for the original Switch, along with remakes of older titles and the Luigi’s Mansion Arcade spin-off.

Now, leaker Nash Weedle has hinted that Luigi’s Mansion 4 will be “wild” when it releases for the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2. Weedle didn’t say much about the potentially upcoming title, but it was enough to excite gamers, who are curious to know more about the popular franchise after six years without a mainline entry. Unfortunately, details remain sparce, and it’s still unknown when the title will be released, though an announcement may be incoming.

Insider Teases Luigi's Mansion 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2

If Weedle mentioned the game, the insider may know something the public does not, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for Luigi’s Mansion 4. However, it’s also important to acknowledge that Nintendo has not yet officially announced the game, and most of the information about the title’s existence is purely speculation at this point. Previous rumors from the well-known insider Zippo have indicated that the title would be twice the size of previous games, have “mind-blowing visuals,” and be released in the first half of 2026. Obviously, gamers should take both of these rumors with a huge grain of salt, though, as they are from unofficial sources.

So far, first-party titles are doing well on the Nintendo Switch 2, unlike third-party games, which seem to be struggling to be bought and played as much as the current leader, Mario Kart World. To keep up with this success, Nintendo will likely have some fresh first-party releases lined up for 2026.

For now, the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza will likely be another highlight of 2025 for Nintendo fans. The 3D platformer will be released on July 17, and it has been favorably compared to Super Mario Galaxy. In the game, the hero Donkey Kong will team up with Pauline, who has special singing abilities.
