Drag x Drive, the upcoming wheelchair basketball game for the Nintendo Switch 2, doesn't appear to support local multiplayer. One of the more unique titles shown during the dedicated Switch 2 Direct stream in April, Drag x Drive will task players with utilizing the console's new mouse functionality to steer, speed up, and dunk, and its release isn't too far away.
The Nintendo Switch 2 improves upon its predecessor in multiple ways, from graphical upgrades to new features. The Joy-Con 2 controllers have also seen a redesign, with the upcoming sports title Drag x Drive being the first game to harness their mouse mode. In the 3v3 basketball game, players will need to use the unique functionality to maneuver around the court in a wheelchair, with online play opening up even more possibilities. Unfortunately, it looks like the Nintendo title may be missing a popular feature for those wanting to pick up the title with a friend or family member at home.

Rather, the title will support up to 12 players online and will only support one user per console, even if a second player brings their own pair of Joy-Cons. Ahead of Drag x Drive's August 14 launch date, players have taken to social media to show their interest and support in the unique title, though this lack of local multiplayer may put a damper on the game's launch for some.

Additionally, Drag x Drive won't take up much space on the new hybrid console, coming in at just 1.8 GB. The Switch 2 has seen a major storage boost when compared to the original system, boasting 256 GB of space.
While the console only launched with two first-party titles, there are plenty of upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 releases for players to look forward to. July will see the release of Donkey Kong Bananza, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, and the Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Kirby Air Riders have yet to confirm their release dates, though they are both rumored to be coming in 2025.
