As for the show's main storyline, it will follow Bloom's quest to restore reality "after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard," portrayed by Jim Parsons and Johnny Galeckirespectively. The very thing that Stuart breaks causes a "multiverse Armageddon."

“We’re excited to be continuing the legacy of The Big Bang Theory,” Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and HBO Max Content, said. “Much like the original series, this new chapter wouldn’t be possible without the vision and storytelling brilliance of Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, as well as Zak Penn, who has brought fresh insight and a distinctive voice to an already exceptional creative team.”

Sussman previously teased the spinoff in an Instagram post uploaded back in March. Many fans reacted to the idea of a Stuart spinoff and most seemed interested.

"Wow can’t wait for this, especially if they’re letting Stuart be Stuart, dude killed in that role," one person wrote.
