This Vermont town was called an 'enchanting' village with 'quaint' 'B&Bs'. Here's how to visit

There is nothing like visiting a lovely New England town for a little vacation.

Islands, a travel publication that started in 1981, says this Vermont village, with its cute little shops, and the comfortable inns, is perfect for couples who want to let joy back into their lives.

"Its scenic ski slopes, vibrant charm, fly fishing spots, and inviting art centers have long captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike," the publication said. "You'll also discover snug B&Bs, quaint cafes, and an iconic bookstore sprinkled across the town."

And for that, they recommend heading to Manchester, Vermont.

While visiting Manchester, you can go and see Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home, where President Abraham Lincoln's son lived with his family.

Manchester — 'enchanting' village with 'cozy' cafes

Islands named Manchester as the perfect small-town paradise for couples to rediscover themselves and each other.

"The Carriage House offers suites with fireplaces, accentuating the warm ambiance of the space," the travel publication said. "You can spend hours unwinding on the front porch and basking in views of the mountains that flank the property."

The Inn at Manchester is located at 3967 Main St.

They also said that a famous Manchester landmark is Hildene, the home that Robert Todd Lincoln, the only surviving son of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln, built and transformed into the ancestral home of the Lincoln family.

"But today, it has evolved into a beloved venue for proposals, weddings, and special occasions," Islands said. "Perched 300 feet above the Battenkill River Valley, and wedged between the Taconic Mountains and Green Mountains, its lush garden provides a dreamy setting to walk down the aisle."

Whether as a venue for a wedding or to tour its halls as a museum-goer, the Lincoln family home, Hildene, can be visited at 1005 Hildene Road in Manchester Center.
