’100% Sure’ Resident Evil Requiem Leaker Doubles Down on Leon Being the Main Character
A leaker with a proven track-record insists that the main character of Resident Evil Requiem is Leon S. Kennedy. Resident Evil Requiem was first announced at the end of Summer Game Fest 2025, with the game seemingly revealing Grace Ashcroft as its protagonist. However, rumors and leaks have suggested that Capcom is pulling a fast one on fans, and that the true main character of Resident Evil Requiem will be none other than Leon Kennedy.
Leon has been a fan-favorite character among Resident Evil fans since he first appeared in Resident Evil 2. Following Resident Evil 2, Leon was the star of Resident Evil 4, widely considered not only one of the best Resident Evil games, but one of the best video games ever made. Leon also appeared in Resident Evil 6 and the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 4, plus he has been featured in various canon CG movies.

Nakanishi explained that while the team considered the option of making Leon the main character of Resident Evil Requiem, they decided he wasn't a "good fit" for horror. Some took this to mean that Leon is not in the game, but leaker AestheticGamer/Dusk Golem has doubled down on their claims that the fan-favorite character is indeed Requiem's main character. AestheticGamer said, "I'm 100% sure Leon is the protagonist still," pointing out that Requiem isn't going to be a "pure horror game" and claiming Capcom is "baiting you guys 100%."
Resident Evil Leaker Still Says Leon is the Main Character of Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem has previously been described as a blend of horror and "high-stakes cinematic action." Assuming the claims that Leon is the main character of Resident Evil Requiem are true, it seems that Grace Ashcroft will be playable for the more horror-focused sections that have been shown off so far, while Leon will star in the action-oriented sequences.
