Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone players will want to make sure they're jumping into either of the two shooters this weekend, as developers Treyarch Studios and Raven Software launch a brand new Double XP event. Call of Duty players looking to level up some of the new Season 4 Reloaded weapons or finish off the current season's Battle Pass can jump into either Black Ops 6 or Warzone right now until Monday, July 14, for Double XP.
Season 4 is approaching its final few weeks, and it's fair to say that the current season has been a turbulent one, riddled with controversy and fan backlash. Call of Duty Season 4 kicked off in Black Ops 6 and Warzone on May 29, but it didn't take long for fans to notice that there was a pretty significant change introduced with the content update that wasn't mentioned in the patch notes. As fans jumped in and began creating a class for Season 4, they were greeted with a glaring advertisement for numerous different store bundles. Players were quick to call out publisher Activision for the sneaky addition, which would later result in the studio removing it entirely and claiming that it was released in error.

Like other entries to the IP, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is expected to come with pre-order bonuses, with some particular benefits being very likely.

Call of Duty's New Double XP Event Is a Big One
CloseWith Call of Duty's big mid-season update now behind us, Season 4 is now in its final few weeks. The good news, however, is that the latest Double XP weekend is a big one, as it not only includes double weapon and level XP, but double Battle Pass XP too. Treyarch and Raven regularly deploy Double XP events in Black Ops 6 and Warzone, but it's becoming increasingly rare to see Double Battle Pass XP activated alongside them. Unfortunately, Zombies fans have been left without this weekend, as it doesn't look like Treyarch has activated 2X Gobblegum earn rate in the mode for this weekend's event.
Although there are still a couple more seasons of Black Ops 6 to go, Call of Duty fans are gearing up for the launch of Black Ops 7 later this year. The next installment in Treyarch's Black Ops series was revealed last month with a mind-bending trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase. There's currently no official release date, but it is speculated to be released in late October or early November, as is tradition with the Call of Duty franchise.
Fans can expect to see some iconic Black Ops characters make their return in the next Call of Duty game, including David Mason and the villainous Raul Menendez. Black Ops 7 will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, set in the year 2035, and will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
