Stalker 2 Releases New Update for July 2025

CaelGames2025-07-118161

Developer GSC Game World has released the patch notes for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl’s update 1.5.1, and despite being smaller in scale, the patch marks the end of the chaos hour. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a first-person shooter that was released in November 2024, after years of significant delays. Serving as the fourth main game in the survival horror series and the first entry in 15 years since 2009’s Call of Pripyat, the sequel was a hit with the fanbase, selling one million copies within two days of its release.

This month’s smaller patch follows STALKER 2’s massive update 1.5, which was released in June, bringing guns and looting to the Zone. Players also witnessed mutant loot mechanics through the previous update, as well as new weapons, A-Life improvements, and stability fixes. Since its delayed but successful launch, STALKER 2 has been steadily releasing updates to make gameplay more seamless and remove some of its initial technical issues.

Posted on Steam, GSC delivered the patch notes for STALKER 2’s update 1.5.1, playfully noting that bloodsuckers would no longer be plaguing hubs and NPCs could no longer fly away after taking headshots. NPCs remained a highlight of the update, with several fixes addressing issues like NPCs getting stuck during patrolling and refusing to go to shelter in offline mode during Emission. Contrasting some players deeming STALKER 2’s A-Life 2.0 system broken, the patch has also fixed an issue regarding A-Life mutants and NPCs spawning in restricted areas.

Additionally, following the STALKER 2 developers' promise of more accessible mod support, patch 1.5.1 also introduces a new Zone Kit. The MOD SDK update supports content from the recent patch, and players need only update the game to help reduce the chances of game instability for modifications. The player base was generally pleased with the patch, and one fan thanked the team for making the best game of its genre, while noting more wishlist features from the community, including a fix for hardcoded rebinds.
