Diablo Immortal Reveals Details About New Class

SkylerGames2025-06-282300

Diablo Immortal is getting a Druid class, Blizzard and NetEease have announced. The game's ninth playable class is planned to debut in Diablo Immortal in early July 2025.

The Druid class dates back to Diablo 2, which introduced the shapeshifting warrior to Blizzard's long-running hack-and-slash RPG series. While some Diablo 3 classes shared thematic and functional similarities, the Druid didn't return to the franchise until the 2023 Diablo 4.

The Druid is now set to reach Diablo Immortal, with Blizzard and NetEase officially announcing the game's latest class with a cinematic reveal trailer on June 25. Its launch is scheduled for next Thursday, July 3. Diablo Immortal's take on the Druid will serve as a primal reimagining of the classic archetype. This version of the shapeshifter hails from Sharval Wilds, a "dark, spooky, dense-canopied high forest with some very classically Gothic and Gaelic fantasy elements," Diablo Immortal senior narrative designer Ryan Quinn told Game Rant.

Diablo Immortal: Druid Class Overview

Primary attacks Ferocious Strike: Basic staff combo, generates Primal Power. Fang and Claw (Ultimate): Enhances Ferocious Strike with claws and a damage-absorbing shield.

Transformations Werewolf (Lv. 3): Fast melee form with Bleed and burst mobility. Werebear (Lv. 38): Tanky form with AoE, stun, and damage mitigation.

Core Druid skills Summon Wolves (Lv. 8): Passive wolf companions; Bleed attack on command. Earthquake (Lv. 15): AoE knock-up and slam-down. Raven Swarm (Lv. 20): Untargetable dash + AoE damage. Thorn Armor (Lv. 28): Defensive buff; damage and slow on being hit. Landslide (Lv. 34): Rock projectile AoE. Summon Grizzly (Lv. 41): Stun-dealing bear companion. Summon Oak Sage (Lv. 44): Passive projectile support; active AoE immobilize. Circle of Life (Lv. 47): Area healing field + collectible healing blossoms. Surging Stone (Lv. 50): Sustained AoE bleed + knock-up effect. Rabid Might (Lv. 53): Massive party-wide HP buff + CC immunity.

Other skills Fire Tornado: AoE pull + burn. Stag Charge: Triple leap, slow, and knockback effect.

Reflecting natural disaster motifs like wildfires and earthquakes, the Druid's gameplay identity revolves around elemental upheaval and overall volatility. While different in many ways, it still retains some familiar features of the Diablo 4 rendition of Druid, including animal companions, shapeshifting, and elemental casting. The biggest novelties arrive with new forms and a more agile combat style designed for form-swapping. Werebear, Stag Charge, and Raven Swarm aim to make the class feel uniquely aggressive and thoroughly unpredictable.

While Blizzard expects single-form builds to be a viable way of playing Diablo Immortal as a Druid, the class is primarily designed to reward players who adapt mid-battle, strongly encouraging form swapping. The Sharval Wilds Druid also stays true to the archetype’s roots, wielding fire magic and summoning companions. The nostalgic Oak Sage ability returns in this version of the class, reimagined as a more active and thematically integrated part of the Druid’s toolkit.

4 Ways To Play Druid in Diablo Immortal From July 3

Create a new character and select the Druid class. Enter the Primal Plane, a three-week-long event like the Fractured Plane, but everyone plays as the Druid. Play the Druid Origin Quest, “Grovekeeper's Call,” and experience the Druid’s journey as they search for inner balance. Defend your land from demons, become a true Druid through a ritualistic battle, and learn about your role as nature’s guardian. Start the quest through Class Change or the Druid Event Hub. Class Change allows a character to transfer from its current Class to the Druid. The Class Change Cooldown is removed upon completion of the Druid Origin Quest.

The upcoming arrival of Diablo Immortal’s ninth class is part of the game’s 2025 "Epoch of Madness" roadmap. Another major update, The First and Last King, is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2025. While Blizzard remains tight-lipped on specifics, the update’s title suggests it will continue the central theme of Epoch of Madness: the power vacuum left in the wake of the December 2024 boss battle introduced in the Shattered Sanctuary update.
