Ferrari Debuts 640-HP Amalfi Coupe as Roma Successor Ahead of First EV Reveal

Ferrari unveiled its latest model, the Amalfi coupe, on Tuesday, a sleek, V8-powered grand tourer that replaces the outgoing Roma as the new entry-level coupe in the brand’s lineup. The reveal comes just months ahead of Ferrari’s highly anticipated debut of its first all-electric vehicle, which is set to be revealed in phases beginning this October.

Powered by a 3.85-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 640 horsepower, the rear-wheel-drive Amalfi delivers a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). Ferrari says the car offers a more refined yet still exhilarating driving experience compared to its predecessor, blending elegance with performance in a package aimed at a broader range of conditions and customers.

“It’s a true Ferrari sportscar, but it also has a very elegant soul,” said Enrico Galliera, Ferrari’s Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer. “It’s suitable for a wide range of driving conditions—less extreme, but equally fun.”

Visually, the Amalfi builds on the Roma’s proportions but incorporates a redesigned front end and an active rear spoiler integrated for improved high-speed stability. Like the Roma, the 2+ coupe offers rear seats suitable for occasional use or extra luggage space.

The Amalfi marks Ferrari’s continued emphasis on internal combustion and hybrid technology as the company cautiously moves toward electrification. While its first EV will begin a three-stage reveal in October and formally debut next spring, a second, more widely accessible electric model likely won’t arrive until 2028, as insiders cite soft demand for luxury EVs.

The Amalfi will carry a starting price of €240,000 (approximately $281,000) in Europe, with first deliveries expected in early 2026. U.S. deliveries will follow several months later, priced higher due to tariffs. Ferrari began taking orders Tuesday, though Galliera noted “strong interest” from clients had already been received by dealers.

The Roma coupe is now out of production, though its convertible variant introduced in 2023 remains in Ferrari’s lineup—for now.
