Once Human developer Starry Studio, a subsidiary of NetEase, has revealed a new class system in tandem with its three introductory classes, and fans are counting down the days until the arrival of the Wonder Dawn 2.0 anniversary update. Once Human was released back in 2024, serving as a free-to-play post-apocalyptic survival game with an open world and multiplayer action to dive into. Players navigate the fallout of the Starfall event that caused an alien substance to turn humans into Deviations.
Recently, Once Human added a major feature to the gameplay, which offered another replayability incentive. The studio is also preparing for the Global Annual Version 2.0 Showcase on July 2, 2025, which will reveal an updated roadmap, a new Scenario, and more information about the PvP spin-off, Once Human: Raidzone. As players say goodbye to June, there’s one more exciting addition for fans to look forward to in the interim.

The update confirmed the class system was not a traditional MMO standard, as the game offers specialized jobs that fuel progression instead of fixed archetypes. The screenshots were translated from Chinese on the game’s official website, but the developer has since posted an English version of the update details. Furthermore, the first classes will be available for public testing after the July 3 update is live.
