It's been a month since the new Pokemon GO season Delightful Days launched on June 3, with special events adding Pokemon from different generations each week. The new season also happens to align with Pokemon GO's 9th Anniversary, which saw the Kanto Starters, Pikachu, Eevee, and more appearing with special party hats to celebrate the game's milestone. The Pokemon GO team continued the festivities with a special anniversary artwork by Pokemon GO character designer Yusuke Kozaki, which some fans suspect includes hints at new content to come.

Posts 1The 9th Anniversary artwork for Pokemon GO includes the Paradox Pokemon Great Tusk and Iron Treads, which likely signals the addition of Paradox Pokemon in an upcoming event. Although Great Tusk and Iron Treads are Past and Future versions of the Ground-type Pokemon Donphan that can be caught in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, respectively, Paradox Pokemon are considered separate from their contemporary cousins, complete with their own Pokedex entries. It is unclear if the Paradox Pokemon will be added to the game as wild encounters or as raid bosses, similar to how legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO have debuted in the past.
Paradox Forms Could Soon Make Their Pokemon Go Debut
CloseKozaki's artwork includes a few more teasers of potential future additions, namely Gigantamax Butterfree and Mega Metagross. Mega Metagross is one of the last Mega Evolution Pokemon that has yet to be added to the game, with most featuring as Mega Pokemon Raids in Pokemon GO. While it's already possible to obtain a Dynamax version of Butterfree, the Bug-type Pokemon's Gigantamax form has yet to make an appearance. Another small detail in the artwork, a Pokemon trainer with a visible thumbs-up notification above his wrist, could hint at remote communication or trading.
The potential addition of Paradox Pokemon feels like a natural next step for Pokemon GO. With such a massive catalog of Pokemon that still has yet to be added, Paradox Pokemon will add an interesting bit of variety to what players can encounter in the wild. The rumored addition of remote trading would also do wonders for the game's community aspect, especially with region-exclusive versions of Pokemon in Pokemon GO making it difficult for players to complete their Pokedex without expensive travel plans.
