Overwatch 2 has added some Nerf Easter eggs to several in-game maps, indicating a new collab with the toy brand might be coming. While nothing is confirmed yet, this evidence suggests Overwatch 2 Season 17 might be getting a second crossover event soon.
Recently, Overwatch 2 began a collaboration with G.I. Joe. Most seasons of Overwatch 2 have only had one crossover event, though Season 16 broke that trend by having both the Gundam Wing and Street Fighter 6 collabs.

Overwatch 2 Reveals Major Flashpoint Changes
Blizzard reveals major changes to the Flashpoint game mode and its maps in Overwatch 2 ahead of an upcoming Season 17 mid-season update.
PostsNow, it seems like Season 17 might be doing the same. Overwatch Cavalry discovered several new doodads on maps like Watchpoint: Gibraltar, Nepal, Lijang Tower, Ilios, Chateau Guillard, and Rialto, including Nerf Vortex footballs and several darts. While similar items could be seen briefly during the Overwatch 2 Season 17 trailer, the addition of these toys onto actual maps in the latest update is likely a deliberate teaser for an upcoming crossover with Nerf.
In-Game Overwatch 2 x Nerf Collaboration Teaser
Interestingly enough, this wouldn’t be the first time Nerf and Overwatch have crossed paths. Back in 2019 and 2020, Nerf released a bunch of toys designed after the weapons of various Overwatch heroes as a part of the Rivals and Micro-Shot series, including Cassidy, Soldier: 76, D.Va, Mei, Roadhog, Reaper, Torbjorn, Lucio, and Tracer. If Overwatch 2 is doing a collab with the Hasbro toy brand, it is possible these or other heroes will receive Weapon skins that will give their firearms the Nerf treatment.
CloseSeason 17 of Overwatch 2 ends August 19, so if this potential Nerf crossover is coming this season, it would have to start near the end of July or beginning of August. The Overwatch 2 mid-Season 17 update is expected to arrive around the same time, so it would not be surprising if something is revealed around then. However, it is important to note that, despite the evidence, these Easter eggs could technically amount to nothing, or be a reference to something other than a full collab with Nerf.
In the meantime, Overwatch 2 players have a lot of reasons to look forward to Season 18. Wuyang, the water-based support hero formerly codenamed Aqua, is coming in the update, with his official reveal expected to arrive within the next few weeks. Beyond that, Overwatch 2 Season 18 will also include some major features, including a Perks revamp, new heroes and maps in Stadium, and a Competitive Play rank reset. The season will almost certainly include at least one major external IP crossover, so fans should be sure to keep an eye out in the weeks before then to see what is coming to Overwatch 2 next.
