Dodge Charger Sixpack Cars Might Never Hit The Market

Stellantis tried getting revolutionary with the Dodge Charger Sixpack, but the inline six-cylinder engines might never make it to market. While President Trump’s tariffs and shortages have been blamed for the setbacks, it seems the real reason is the engines just plain suck.

Belltown Hellcat owner will be spending some time in jail.

Multiple sources are leaking out information that the Hurricane inline-six is a garbage engine, especially the twin-turbo version which was supposed to serve up Hellcat-like performance while consuming less gas.

Supposedly, we were getting the Sixpack Chargers this summer, but there’s no delivery date in sight and we’ve on the other side of Independence Day. Apparently, that’s all thanks to the engines failing in tests.

In fact, in some test groups the failure rate is just short of half of the group. The problems the Sixpacks have been running into are overheating and system failures. We’re just shocked a turbo engine would overheat under load – we’ve never heard of or experienced such a thing (that’s heavy sarcasm, in case you weren’t picking up on it).

What we’re being told is Stellantis is starting to realize getting the Hurricane-powered Dodge Chargers to market without major problems is going to take until at least early next year, if not later.

Stellantis tried to go all high-tech with the Hurricane engine, but the complex software has apparently been failing and bricking the engines. We’ve heard of similar issues with the all-electric Charger Daytonas.

It’s almost like there’s some beauty in a simple, mechanical car that uses tried and true designs. Stellantis decided it was going to put Dodge on the bleeding edge of technology and is paying the price for that dumb move.

Since we’ve been told Hemi V8s are also being tested out in new Chargers, there apparently haven’t been any issues with those engines. This is a perfect metaphor for what’s been going on in the auto industry lately.
