Remedy Entertainment just rolled out a new update for FBC: Firebreak, bringing a long list of changes meant to tighten up the game’s audio, visuals, and overall feel. FBC: Firebreak launched on June 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and not long after, the studio confirmed it had already pulled in over a million players across platforms.
Still, that early milestone hasn’t translated into much momentum on PC. FBC: Firebreak Steam stats show a peak concurrent player count of just 1,992, and recent feedback has been mixed. Of the 1,637 user reviews on the platform, around 68% are positive. The main complaints center on missing chat functions and stubborn connection problems. Remedy did push out a smaller update earlier in July to begin tackling some of those issues, and this new patch builds on that.

Remedy Comments on FBC: Firebreak Issues
FBC: Firebreak developer Remedy Entertainment responds to negative feedback of the co-op FPS game's launch and announces plans to fix it.
PostsThe 1.4 patch for the first-person shooter FBC: Firebreak introduces a broad set of improvements, with a strong emphasis on audio. Gunfire sounds have been improved to feel more powerful, while actions like melee swings, movement, and item pickups come with more detailed audio. Spatial sound has been adjusted too, making it easier to pinpoint where enemies are coming from. Ambient noise like faucets, ammo stations, and Hot Fix fans has also been bumped up in the mix. On top of that, new audio cues have been added for enemy deaths, interactive objects like the resonator panel, and key items such as Lost Assets and Research Samples.
UI tweaks and tutorial updates are also part of the patch. HUD elements have been cleaned up, and FBC: Firebreak's tutorial prompts now appear more logically depending on what’s happening in-game. Some bugs involving objective markers, Crisis Kit loadouts, and language scaling have been smoothed out. The ping system now covers grenades and ammo boxes, and other minor issues, like Crisis Kit loadouts not updating properly at the end screen and players navigating menus during tutorials, have been fixed as well.
CloseA handful of PC-specific problems were addressed too, including DLSS occasionally messing with visuals and a bug that caused the submachine gun to disappear in third-person. Some out-of-bounds item issues and spots where players could get stuck were also cleaned up to improve stability overall. On the gameplay side, the update fixes a few persistent bugs that kept certain perks from activating as they should, and a bug that caused FBC: Firebreak trophies to not display properly on PS5 has been resolved.
On the multiplayer front, stability has been tightened up to help with disconnection and loading problems. A couple of item-related tweaks round out the patch, including more consistent pearl spawning in Ground Control and a slightly slower, but steadier, healing effect from faucets. It’s a quality-of-life update, mainly, but it should help FBC: Firebreak feel more responsive and smooth moving forward.
